Bayern Munich and Chelsea could agree on player transfer after latest club decision
As we all know that, Chelsea are yet to see the best of £97.5m signing Romelu Lukaku, as the big money signing has failed to deliver in his first season back at the club.
However, A recent report from L’Equipe (via Tutto Mercato Web) has claimed that Bayern Munich are set to make a decision on their 33-year-old striker Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern are expected to hold talks with Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi in the coming days, and are only willing to offer him a one-year contract extension with no pay raise.
Lewandowski’s fate has become uncertain as he approaches the final year of his current deal with Bayern.
According to the report, Bayern are not willing to offer more than a year extension to Lewandowski.
It further stated that if the two parties fail to find an agreement, Bayern are ready to put Lewandowski on the market, for a fee of around €60 million and seek a replacement in the market.
Interestingly, Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has been tipped as one of the likely replacements for Lewandowski.
Bayern are reportedly willing to take a gamble on Lukaku, and they feel they can get him for a lesser value than what Chelsea paid Inter Milan.
Lewandowski has himself admitted that he’s unsure of his future at the moment.
“There will be a meeting soon, but nothing special has happened so far,” Lewandowski told Sky. “I also notice what’s going on. The situation is not that easy for me.”
