Bayern Munich decision good news for Chelsea & Lampard

Chelsea is facing an issue in the left-back role for some time now. Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri are not doing a good job either. The duo has been in and out of form and is facing trouble in making the ends meet.

Cesar Azpilicueta was made to play in the left by Lampard to get things sorted. But the right-back is also not able to make much difference playing out of position.

Hence Lampard has made finding a solution for this problem his top priority. The Blues seemed to make a move for the likes of Alex Telles and Ben Chilwell in recent times. But it seems they have found a new remedy from the Bundesliga. Bayern Munich star David Alaba is the new contender in Chelsea’s list of targeted right-backs.

ALABA’S ERA AT BAYERN SEEM NEARING AN END.
The 27-year-old has an expiring contract due at the end of next season. Alaba would most probably be bidding adios to Bayern soon. The Austrian has achieved a lot during his ten seasons at Bayern.

The full-back won eight Bundesliga titles, four German Cups and the Champions League since joining for Bayern. Alaba has scored 30 times in 372 games for the Bundesliga giants over the past 10 seasons. Alaba is a unique player who can play at both the full-back sides and also give a hand in the midfield as well.

But all good players will be replaced in time, and Alaba’s replacement is 19-year-old Alphonso Davies. The youngster has taken up Alaba’s natural left-back role at Bayern and has shown some amazing performances. Davies has the ability to run up and down the flank at lightning speed with the ball. Hence Alaba is now forced to play inside away from his comfort zone.

With the Austrian approaching the end of his contract at Bayern, it might be the best time for him to make an exit. It would be clever to move to a club that needs his talent and expertise. Chelsea might be the right direction for him to head for.
