Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies joined the club from Vancouver Whitecaps in January 2019.
The 19-year-old is getting set to face Chelsea, but has admitted that his father is a die-hard Chelsea fan while also revealing he has a soft spot for Chelsea and loves Blues legend Didier Drogba.
“My dad has always been a big Chelsea fan. And I’ve been a fan of Didier Drogba,” Davies revealed in an interview with Kicker.
“But I’m really sure he loves me more than he does Chelsea.”
“It’s going to be really hard. Chelsea have a young a hungry team. We have to prepare really well,” he said about the game.
Bayern have gone 10 games without defeat in all competitions, and Davies is set for his 25th appearance of the season, and he’s keen to get the result against Chelsea.
“It’ll be a difficult game,” Davies said, knowing that the Blues beat Spurs over the weekend. “They are a young, hungry team. We need to make sure we’re well prepared.”
Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori will reunite with his former roommate at Canadian youth level Alphonso Davies when Chelsea take on Bayern Munich in Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 first leg.
