Big Nkunku news means Chelsea will now sign proven top-level striker

Chelsea could now look to sign a proven top-level striker after Christopher Nkunku suffered a knee injury.

The Blues have once again been active in the transfer market this summer and added some very exciting talents, but also bringing in experienced players like Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson to shore up that front-line.

However – 25-year-old Nkunku went off in the 22nd minute during the 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund, after the Frenchman hit the deck following a challenge from Mats Hummels, and despite carrying on, he was unable to shake off the niggle.

Speaking of the player after the match, Pochettino said: “The doctors are checking him and I hope it is not a big issue.

“He fell in the action [against Hummels] which was maybe a penalty and he feels something in his knee, but we hope it is nothing big.

“We hope he can be back quickly with the team. We need a few days to assess him.”

Now it has been claimed on the SUN that Chelsea could be forced into delving into that transfer kitty and adding a new striker to the attack – and there are a few names that are on the shopping list.
