Billy Gilmour’s replacement? as Chelsea youngster set to take his spot at Chelsea after Tuchel’s latest decision
According to latest reports, Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour, he’s set to leave the club on a loan deal to Norwich.
However, the newly promoted club have been linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour, and reports now claim that they have made breakthrough in negotiations to sign the 20-year-old.
Gilmour struggled for minutes last season at Chelsea despite his talent, and had a good showing at Euro 2020 where he was named man of the match in his only Euro 2020 appearance.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel rates Gilmour highly and decided against sending him out on loan in January. However, Tuchel is now open to letting him leave the club on loan this summer.
With Gilmour set for an exit, reports claim Gallagher may remain with the senior team for the 2021-22 season.
Gallagher enjoyed a successful loan spell at West Bromwich Albion last season in the Premier League, and he’d be keen on carrying that same form to Chelsea.
Pre-season training will resume on July 5, and returning loanees and players who weren’t involved in international competitions are expected to take part.
The likes of Tino Livramento, Dujon Sterling, Armando Broja and Marc Guehi are expected to pitch up at the training ground next week, and also returning loanees such as Tiemoue Bakayoko and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
