Blues made bold move unveiling a 14-goal sensation striker to elite their squad

The list of strikers Chelsea are interested in has been pretty limited so far. They want an elite option, and that seems to have been narrowed down to Victor Osimhen or Ivan Toney, with Viktor Gyokeres getting the occasional mention too.

They should probably cast the net wider, given there’s no guarantee they will be able to sign any of those players. So we’re not surprised that today we hear whispers from Caughtoffside that Ollie Watkins has been added to out shortlist for the summer.

The 28 year old has a long contract and the report says that the Villains would “demand a substantial fee for their best player,” which so us means he won’t come in much cheaper than £100m.

As with those other elite options, the problem is not just if we can afford Watkins, but if we can offer him a better setup to play in Europe, score goals and win trophies. Right now, we’re not sure we can.
