Philippe Coutinho is reportedly eyeing a move back to the PL. The Brazilian has spent a campaign on loan at Bayern Munich. But it appears uncertain that Bayern will be taking up their option to buy him.

According to Sport, Coutinho has been told that he will not play a role in the “new project” at Barca. And is now looking for his next destination. Coutinho’s agents have seemingly told Barcelona that he will not make his departure difficult. And a move could be advantageous to all parties.

Chelsea could be set for a boost. In their quest of Coutinho. As it has been uncovered that he does not want to sign for Tottenham this summer. The report claims that Spurs agreed on a loan deal with Barca last summer. Before Daniel Levy backed out, leaving Coutinho “outraged” with the club.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Coutinho. If Spurs are not an alternative for Coutinho, it could potentially be simpler for Chelsea to pursue a deal for Coutinho and bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Coutinho has bagged eight goals and six assists in just 15 leagues start for Bayern. He has also averaged an amazing WhoScored rating of 7.27. Indicating that he could be a good addition to Chelsea squad.

Chelsea’s midfield requires creativity and Coutinho could be the man to deliver it for the next campaign. Mason Mount has assisted the most, with four in 25 starts. Ross Barkley has assisted three times. Whilst Jorginho has only two. Coutinho could offer something different in the central part and add some additional goals and assists to Lampard’s side.
