BREAKING: Chelsea midfielder signs new contract extension with club
According to latest reports, Chelsea have today confirmed the official contract extension of one of their midfielders on the club website.
The Blues have often struggled in recent times to get some of their hottest prospects to pen new deals at the club, with many of them choosing to rather go out and search for first team football immediately rather than stay and try and make it at Chelsea.
However, some good news on that front and that is that highly rated 19-year old Ben Elliott has penned an extension until 2024, with his current deal due to expire this summer.
There was uncertainty for a while whether he would sign a new deal at the club or not, but it is pleasing to see Chelsea get this one over the line.
He has been at the club since the under 8s group, and now that he has secured a new deal it is likely that a loan move will be on the agenda soon.
