Chelsea are prepared to pursue the signing of PSG striker Edison Cavani until transfer deadline day, According to Daily Star.
Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing the 32 year old striker and Cavani’s father has claimed the striker prefers a move to Atletico Madrid.
According to The Times, Chelsea have made a loan bid to sign Cavani after the striker submitted a transfer request to this PSG. Chelsea have reportedly offered to cover the entirety of Cavani’s £360k-a-week salary and also pay a loan fee of £5 million.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard admitted the Blues are looking to sign a striker after the draw against Arsenal on Tuesday night.
“You can’t say we will definitely sign a striker but we are looking,” he said after the game. “If you don’t score enough goals then you won’t win enough games.
“We get into the box and we could have had three or four goals today. We are having shots, having crosses and lots of ‘ooh’ moments for the crowd.
“But we have to be clinical. Do we need to put the ball in the back of the net more? Yes. That’s clear. Our chance conversion is one of the worst in the league.”
