BREAKING: Chelsea set to submit bid for 27-year-old goal machine

The January transfer window is officially open, Premier League giants Chelsea football club are set to signing a new striker for manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The West London club have endured a very disappointing start to the ongoing 2023/2024 season and are currently occupying the 10th position on the Premier League table.

And with the likes of Armando Broja and Nicolas Jackson failing to impress so far this ongoing season, it would only make sense for Chelsea football club to sign a new striker this month.

And if reports are anything to go by, then Chelsea football club have been linked with a transfer move for experienced Brentford centre-forward Ivan Toney this January transfer window.

The 27-year-old England International, who signed up for Premier League side Brentford back in 2018 has proven to be one of the best strikers in the league in recent seasons.

The experienced striker was highly clinical for Brentford football club during the 2022/2023 season where he scored 21 goals and created five assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.

His excellent performances caught the attention of Chelsea over the past few and now that the January transfer window is open, Chelsea football club are making moves to sign him according to reports from Daily Mail.

The reports further claimed that Brentford are aware of Chelsea’s interest in Ivan Toney and have told the Blues that they need to raise up to £160million transfer fee in order to sign him.

It is believed that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to add more goalscoring options to his squad and he has identified Ivan Toney as a needed addition this month.

But with Brentford asking for £160million transfer fee, it remains to be seen if Chelsea football club will be able to reach an agreement with Brentford and sign Ivan Toney.
