BREAKING: Chelsea Star set to Sign new five-year contract with Chelsea
Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri is currently negotiating a contract extension with the club, according to the Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport.
It is understood that the new five-year deal is on the table. The current Palmieri’s contract ends in 2022, but Chelsea want to secure the defender’s future.
La Gazzetta reporter Nicolo Schira believes the new deal will be worth €5m plus bonuses.
Emerson have been singled out by both fans and media as one of the best Chelsea players in August.
After arriving to the club in winter 2018, the left-back struggled to make an impact until this year.
He is currently way ahead of Marcos Alonso in the pecking order at the Blues, and he is a stable starter for the Italy national team as well.
