BREAKING: Cole Palmer breaks new Premier League record after what he did in 4-3 win over United

Cole Palmer’s incredible performance against Manchester United last night cemented his place in the hearts of every Chelsea supporter.

The Blues defeated United 4-3, and the England international scored a hat-trick to extend his league total to 16 goals for the year.

When they fell behind late in extra time, it appeared as though they might blow an early 2-0 lead.

Palmer hat-trick for Chelsea
However, Palmer again found the net from the spot, before firing home a deflected effort a minute later to send those remaining at Stamford Bridge into raptures.

There was no time for United to respond, and that is perhaps expected based on just how late his hat-trick goal came.

Palmer latest winner in Premier League history

As reported by Squawka Live, the Englishman’s strike was the latest winning goal in Premier League history, being scored in the 101st minute.

The result will be all the more sweet for Chelsea fans who saw Mason Mount introduced from the bench in the final few moments, when United led 3-2.

However, the man who many think the club upgraded with to bring him in had the last laugh, seeing him climb extremely close to the top of the scoring charts this season.

It will not be lost on everyone just how close they came to throwing away the game completely, with the defensive performance in particular leaving a lot to be desired.

There will also be some questions asked about the substitutions made by Mauricio Pochettino, who may well be thanking Palmer himself for keeping him in a job at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will be keen to build on the drama at the end and continue to climb up the table when they take on Sheffield United at the weekend.
