BREAKING: €35m-rated winger set to pen long-term contract with Chelsea

Chelsea winger Willian Borges is keen to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge despite interest from Barcelona, reports claim.

However, The 31-year-old winger can move on a free transfer at the end of the campaign, with his current contract ready to expire. However, Willian is settled in Chelsea and is keen to keep his family in the UK.

Although Borges can talk to teams outside of England to negotiate a move in the summer, he has not agree with Blaugrana and still expects to sign a new deal. As it stands, Brazil international and the London club are apart in talks.

La Liga giants have problems in the front-line as Ousmane Dembele, and Luis Suarez have serious injuries.

Willian has been offered a two-year deal extension but wants a new three-year contract. Four clubs have expressed an interest in signing the forward, but his preference is to stay at Chelsea. Borges has four goals and four assists in 19 matches in the Premier League this campaign.

Willian joined Chelsea from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013 with a €36m deal. He became a crucial figure for the Blues and scored many incredible goals since joining. Borges is a regular member of the national team and also helped them to win the 2019 Copa America which is already a big achievement for the attacker.

Barcelona have excellent consequences in La Liga as they are in second place in the table. The Catalan club signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, Frenkie de Jong from Ajax, Junior Firpo from Real Betis and Neto from Valencia.
