Olympique Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele’s agent has stated that his client will not leave the Ligue 1 outfit for Chelsea nor Arsenal for less than 80 million euros (£72million), according to Football.London.
The midfielder is one of the biggest players across Europe and the French side will find it hard to keep him, however, there could slight room for negotiation.
Ndombele is strong in possession and good at winning the ball whilst impressive driving forward with it and he has many potential Premier League suitors as well.
It’s believed the duo of Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in striking a deal for the central midfielder with Blues head-coach Maurizio Sarri having previously mentioned his midfield area needs reinforcements.
“We have a lot of offensive midfielders and we have only [N’Golo] Kante as a defensive midfielder so it’s not easy now for the midfield to have the right balance.”
If Aarom Ramsey does leave Arsenal at the end of the season once his contract has expired, Unai Emery’s side will be in need of a new midfielder capable of replacing him, and Ndombele would appear to be a good fit for the North London outfit.
In an interview with Calcio Napoli 24, translated by ESP, Ivanisevic revealed that Napoli – Sarri’s former club – had shown an interest in his player before discover Lyon’s asking price.
“Napoli are a great club and even more so now they have Carlo Ancelotti, one of the best managers in the world and, with him, he [Ndombele] could get even better.”
He is in great form and playing at a very high level. He is the classic box-to-box midfielder who can be the difference maker in attack and defence.
He added:
“They are asking for €80million, but that could go down and a compromise could be found.
“He won’t move in January but we will have a look in the future.”
