BREAKING: Real Madrid striker may end up at Stamford Bridge as Cavani deal set to fade up

Chelsea are not actively trying to sign Real Madrid star Luka Jovic, despite their need to recruit a striker before the end of the transfer window on Friday. Frank Lampard, however, could make a late move for the stocky forward if he runs out of other options.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is out of action with an ankle injury and Lampard wants to get another hitman in before Friday.

Olivier Giroud could yet leave the club while Michy Batshuayi’s future is also up in the air.

However, the Blues have been considering a move for Paris Saint-German’s Edinson Cavani, but he prefers a move to Atletico Madrid.

There’s also Ac Milan’s Krzysztof Piatek, who is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

But Chelsea are apparently undecided on whether they want to sign him on a permanent basis.

And according to the Telegraph, Jovic is way down on Chelsea’s list of strikers, with Lampard’s not currently pursuing his signature.
