Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta believes Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is capable of winning the Golden Boot this season.

Abraham scored his 11th Premier League goal of the season as Chelsea beat Aston Villa 2-1 on Wednesday night.

Abraham lies second in the goalscoring chart behind Jamie Vardy (14).

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all shared the Golden Boot award with 22 goals last season but Abraham is on course to surpass that tally if he maintains his present goalscoring rate.

Azpilicueta said as quoted by Standard Sport: “Tammy doesn’t talk about that. If he scores the most goals, then the team will do better as well. I am confident that he can get many more goals because of the way he is working and improving.

It is amazing and he has the potential to go even higher. With his passion and hunger, he is capable of getting to the top, for sure.

“But not only is he scoring goals, he is playing for the team, recovering the ball and he made an assist as well.”
