Chelsea agree shock deal – star ‘says goodbye to team-mates’

CHELSEA have agreed to allow Spanish star Kepa Arrizabalaga to join Real Madrid, according to reports.

After Edouard Mendy departed the club right at the beginning of the transfer window – it was widely expected that Kepa will start the Premier League opener against Liverpool at the weekend.

However, he faced competition for his spot in Mauricio Pochettino’s side after the club completed their £25m deal to sign Robert Sanchez from Brighton last week.

But now it seems that the decision has been made by the board to allow Kepa to depart the club this transfer window and he now looks set to make a shock move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

Fabrizio Romano claims a deal has been verbally agreed between the clubs to send Kepa on loan to the Spanish giants, with no obligation to sign him permanently.

Kepa has been in talks with Bayern Munich over a move as cover for Manuel Neuer, but has reportedly ‘immediately said yes’ to Real after learning of their interest.

The Spaniard is already said to have said goodbye to teammates and is ready to travel back to his homeland.

GOOD MOVE FOR KEPA?

Look, we have a strong belief that Pochettino will give him a chance to prove himself as the club’s number one this coming season – so it would not make sense to join Madrid this summer.

However – we can see why he would want to leave the club and if the reports are true – we will wish him the best because he is a Chelsea player.
