Chelsea announce €126million deal, As Blues set to spend big on these Jorginho replacement

According to latest reports, The Blues have announced the signing of Portugal international Joao Felix on loan from Spanish side Atletico Madrid for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old previously played for Benfica in his homeland before switching to the Spanish capital in the summer of 2019, for a record fee of €126million.

A skilful and stylish attacker, Joao Felix is most effective when roaming fluidly across the forward line and involving himself in the build-up play.

On moving on loan to Chelsea, Joao Felix said: “Chelsea is one of the great teams in the world and I hope to help the team reach their objectives, so I am very, very happy to be here and very excited to play at Stamford Bridge.”

Jorginho’s Chelsea contract will expire at the end of the season and the Blues are willing to let the Italian international leave the club at the end of the season.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are plotting to sign a big-money midfielder in January or the summer and have forged a five-man transfer shortlist.

The five midfielders in the Chelsea shortlist are Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez, Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Chelsea are ready to spend big to sign any of the midfielders in the shortlist. Should the players be unavailable in January, Chelsea are willing to wait until the summer to push for their signings.

Brighton are reportedly open to selling Caicedo this month but are keen on keeping Mac Allister until the end of the season.

Rice and Bellingham are unlikely to be available for sale this month while Benfica are only willing to sell Fernandez this month for his €120million release clause.
