Chelsea announce signing of Czech Republic international midfielder on a three-year deal

Kateina Svitková, a midfielder for the Czech Republic, has officially signed a three-year contract with Chelsea.

A press release from Chelsea’s club officially informed Chelsea247 of the deal.

Svitková left her previous team, West Ham United, at the end of the previous campaign. She now joins The Blues on a free transfer. Over the course of her two years at the team, the midfielder was among The Hammers’ most reliable players. Svitková played 34 times across all competitions for West Ham United, tallying five goals.

Svitková has earned 31 caps for the Czech Republic at the international level and has an outstanding 17 goals to her credit. Between 2015 and 2020, the midfielder won the title of Czech Footballer of the Year four times.

After completing her move to Chelsea, Svitková said “I am living my dream! I have wanted to play for this club my whole life having supported the team since childhood and I really appreciate this exciting opportunity.

Svitková becomes Chelsea manager Emma Hayes’ third summer signing following the recent additions of Ève Périsset and Kadeisha Buchanan.
