Chelsea are ready to sign Atletico Madrid winger this month before chasing Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window.

According to the Telegraph, The blues are ready to take Thomas Lemar on loan from Atletico Madrid for the remainder of the season.

Frank Lampard would see signing the Frenchman as a stop-gap before going all out to sign Jadon Sancho in the summer.

However, The 24-year-old France international has failed to ‘live up to expectations’ at Wanda Metropolitano, as Diego Simeone himself has admitted, and the Spanish side are now ready to listen to offers.

London seems to be Lemar’s most likely destination, with Chelsea and Tottenham considering a loan move. There are other European clubs, particularly from Russia, who are keen on the ex-Monaco star.

Back in France, Lemar was a hot prospect:

Earlier, the Evening Standard reported that Chelsea were offered a chance to loan Lemar until the end of the season for £5m or permanently for £50m, but it was not specified whether the Blues were interested in it.

Lemar will be a great signing for the rest of the season, however lampard still want Sancho in the summer.
