Chelsea coaches really impressed with 22-year-old who has never played for the club in training

Chelsea coaches were heard being very impressed by what they saw from Nicolas Jackson in his first training session yesterday.

A video published on the club’s official Twitter account shows plenty of praise coming his way after the 22-year-old got life underway at Stamford Bridge.

Jackson yesterday took part in his first session as a Chelsea player after completing his deal to join from Villarreal.

The Blues were keen to add a striker this summer to attempt to address the glaring issue in front of goal that plagued them last season.

Kai Havertz played the majority of minutes up front last season, and his inability to find the net on a consistent basis may explain why many are happy to see the back of him for the price they received.

Jackson impresses in training

It was unclear as to whether they are currently expecting Jackson to be a starter at Stamford Bridge straight away, given the fact that he has limited experience at the top.

He did have a strong end to the campaign in La Liga, picking up the player of the month award to bring the season to a close.

If what the new coaches in West London’s reactions yesterday are anything to go by, it seems the Senegal international has already made a big impression on them so far.

There are still reports that they may remain in the market for another number nine this summer, although the market does limit the options right now.

The likes of Dusan Vlahovic have been linked with a move, with Juventus reportedly wanting youngster Cesare Casadei in exchange for the Serbian.
