Chelsea considering a late move to try sign £46m attacker rated by Pep Guardiola

Chelsea are weighing up an attempt to try sign Barcelona’s Ferran Torres this week.

This is according to a report from The Daily Mail.

They claim that Chelsea are considering a move for Ferran Torres, 23, late in this summer transfer window.

The window officially closes at 11pm this Friday night, so Mauricio Pochettino’s side will need to move quickly if they want to bring the Barcelona attacker to Stamford Bridge.

Torres, who joined Spanish giants Barcelona a couple of years ago for an initial fee of £46million (Sky Sports), certainly has a lot of talent.

The Spain international is an extremely versatile forward that can play as a right-winger or central striker, but he’s found it difficult nailing down a spot in the Barcelona starting line-up.

If you want an indication of his quality, 15 goals in 35 senior Spain caps is some return for a youngster still aged just 23.

Premier League audiences will be familiar with Torres because of his spell at Manchester City, where he scored 16 times. In fact, Man City boss Pep Guardiola certainly rates the attacker and previously described him as “incredible” (official website).
