Chelsea considering signing Lorenzo Insigne as they prepare for Eden Hazard’s departure

Eden Hazard’s future at Stamford Bridge is as uncertain as ever and the more he hints at his possible departure to Real Madrid, the more players appear on Chelsea’s radar as potential candidates to replace the 28-year-old in the summer.

This time The Daily Mail state The Blues are monitoring Napoli’s left winger Lorenzo Insigne. One of the main reasons for Chelsea to choose the 27-year-old Italian over Richarlison and Isco who are also linked with the club is reportedly the fact Maurizio Sarri knows the player very well.

They worked together at Napoli from 2015 to 2018 and Insigne was one of Sarri’s key players up front. The winger scored 47 goals under The Blues’ boss and registered 27 assists.

This season, Insigne has already hit the back of the net 11 times and provided the team-mates with 5 assists.

Insigne started his career at Napoli in 2010. The player had three loan spells at Cavese, Foggia and Pescara before becoming The Azzurri’s regular first-team player.

He is best known for his ability to cut inside and shoot from distance.

According to the Transfermarkt, Insigne’s estimated transfer value is £67m. As The Blues intend to demand more than £100m for Eden Hazard, they will definitely have enough money to land the 27-year-old in case they think signing Christian Pulisic in January is still not enough to replace the Belgian.
