Chelsea defender now a target for Serie A giants after failed January move

Chelsea are set to buy some big names this summer according to various sources that expect a couple of years of low spending to be followed by a blowout.

But they will still have to continue selling in order to create space for these players, and given a central defender looks like they’ll be joining us from somewhere, one of our current crop may have to go.

According to the Daily Mail, that man may be Andreas Christensen, with AC Milan apparently interested.

He’s been a regular for Frank Lampard as all of our central defensive options have competed to win the manager’s favour, but he certainly hasn’t established himself as a fixture long term.

It’s very plausible that Frank decides the Dane is expendable in the interest of getting a world class central defender in, and if Milan are interested they’re likely to be able to pay top dollar.

The apparently already made an attempt in January but were knocked back. We can see them being a lot more successful this summer if they try again.
