Chelsea enter the race for the Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic, according to the German outlet Bild. It is reported that the Blues are prepared to bid as high as €45m for the forward currently on loan from Benfica.

The media claims that Chelsea directors feel like Jovic would be a perfect replacement for Olivier Giroud, whose contract at Stamford Bridge ends in the summer.

Frankfurt intend to secure Jovic for themselves at the end of the season. Their boss Bruno Hubner said that they want to activate a purchase option and sign him on a permanent deal.

It has been reported that Jovic’s agent, Fali Ramadani, has discussed a possible deal with Frankfurt’s chiefs – however, nothing has been decided yet.

Meanwhile, Serbian has also recently appeared as a top target for Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Bild report that Real Madrid have lined up an official offer worth of €45m for Benfica’s loanee, amidst intense interest from Barcelona, who consider the striker a long-term replacement for ageing and misfiring Luis Suarez.

Last season Jovic made total 27 appearances for Frankfurt, scored nine goals and provided two assists. This season alone, however, he has already played 27 times in all competitions, netted 19 times and assisted on 4 other goals.

He is also currently a top scorer in the Bundesliga with 14 goals. By the way, Jovic won the DFB Pokal and was included in Serbia squad to travel to Russia for the World Cup this year.
