The blues have drawn Hull in the FA Cup fourth round, with the match to be played away in Yorkshire at the end of this month.
The Blues were entered into the hat tonight after an impressive win against Nottingham Forest in the last round.
Using a team of mainly squad players, Frank Lampard was able to navigate the home tie with a minimum of fuss, allowing first team players to rest after a busy Christmas period while also getting valuable minutes in the legs of some fringe players too.
The next round will hopefully provide a similar opportunity. The Premier League and Champions League will of course take priority.
But with a tough opposition in the latter competition in the form of Bayern Munich, we could easily find ourselves with the FA Cup providing our best chance for silverware.
But before we get ahead of ourselves, we will have to navigate the upcoming tie against the Tigers at the end of this month.
Is this an easy draw for the blues?
