In a latest development, a one-time coach of Christian Pulisic, and ex-US international has sent him a congratulatory message on Instagram ahead of a speculation linking him with a move to English outfit Chelsea.
The Blues have been monitoring the availability of the US international with a view to making a move in the January transfer window, according to reports by Standard Sport.
German side Borussia Dortmund are believed and understood to stand firm on a transfer fee close to £70million for the 20-year-old star amidst reports that says the club’s sporting director insisting in November that the youngster would not be sold in the January transfer window.
In a bid to add strength to the Blues current attacking options, Chelsea have also earmarked Pulisic as a possible replacement for Eden Hazard should he one day leave Stamford Bridge.
Presently Pulisic has not penned down a new deal with the Bundesliga side, speculation has intensified as the January window draws near.
Eddie Johnson, the former Fulham striker who coached Pulisic following his retirement in 2015, appeared to ‘announce’ the deal in a post on his official Instagram account.
In a segment of his Instagram story which has since been taken down, Johnson posted an image of Pulisic mocked-up in half-and-half Chelsea and Dortmund kit with the message:
“@cmpulisic so stoked for you lil bro great move can’t wait to watch you alongside @hazardeden_10.”
Let’s wait and see the outcome.
