Chelsea give fresh update on Felix, confirm 11 players have left
As Chelsea continue to work on cutting down the number of players at the club, they have now confirmed that eleven of their academy players have left Stamford Bridge following the end of their contracts.
The eleven players include Derrick Abu, Joe Haigh, Henry Lawrence, Sam McClelland, Silko Thomas, Ethan Wady, Jayden Wareham, Prince Adegoke, Nathan Baxter, Juan Castillo and Bryan Fiabema.
Chelsea also confirmed that forward Joao Felix has returned to his parent club Atletico Madrid in the Spanish La Liga following the expiration of his loan spell this summer.
The West London side made this known in a statement via its website on Saturday.
Recall that Felix moved to Stamford Bridge on loan from Atletico Madrid for the second half of the 2022/23 season where he scored four goals in 20 appearances.
Felix was one of the few players that impressed at Chelsea amid their poor performance last season and there had been speculations the Blues would give him a permanent offer.
