Chelsea hoping to sell englishman this summer, high price-tag may scare off interest

Chelsea reportedly want to sell Danny Drinkwater this summer, but our valuation of him seems a little unrealistic.

Drinkwater was a panic-buy last summer. He had a good season alongside N’Golo Kante in the middle of the park during Leicester City’s title-triumph, but few ever considered him to be any more than an ordinary player.

He proved last season just how ordinary he is. The Englishman made zero impact for Chelsea last term, despite the club forking out a fee in the region of £35M to secure his services on deadline day.

Chelsea appear to have run out of patience with Drinkwater. The Telegraph claim that we are hoping to part with him this summer, but any interested party will how to meet our hefty valuation, thought to be around £30M.

Having watched him last season, it’s difficult to imagine anyone coming in with a bid of that size. We shall see.
