According to Daily Express, Chelsea are in ‘very advanced’ talks with Porto over signing left-back Alex Telles.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on signing a new left-back this summer and the Blues have been linked with Telles and Ben Chilwell of Leicester City.
Chelsea have reportedly cooled interest in Chilwell and are now focused on signing Telles this summer. Telles is a much more affordable option due to a £35 million release clause in his current contract, which expires in 2021 while Chilwell has a price tag of £80 million.
Telles has already told Porto he will not sign an extension, meaning Porto have to cash in on him this summer to avoid losing him for free in the summer of 2021.
Telles recently appointed Pini Zahavi, who has close ties with Roman Abramovich, as his agent and it is believed this development could well have accelerated talks over a summer move.
