Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze has dropped a transfer hint by admitting that Chelsea is his favourite team in England. Chukwueze in an Instagram live chat with the Super Eagles on Friday, says he supported Chelsea when he was young.

“My favourite team in England is Chelsea, ” Chukwueze said. “I was supporting Chelsea when I was young. When Chelsea lost that champions league final against Manchester United (2007/08), I was crying all through the night.”

The Villareal winger was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, alongside Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and Crystal Palace winger, Wilfred Zaha.

However, this is not the first time the 20-year old has publicly admitted his affection for the London club.

In an interview, Chukwueze said: “ I was supporting Chelsea. I used to support every team that featured a Nigerian. So my love for Chelsea then was because of Mikel.

“Maybe in the future, a movement is possible but right now my attention is on Villarreal. I want to focus well on my club and gain more confidence. Maybe when the time is ripe, I can move.”

Chukwueze also spoke on the speculations making rounds in Spain that Barcelona may be crowned champions if the season is concluded abruptly.

“Everyone wants to play, I think the league is still open, it will be unfair to give the title to Barcelona. It’s just two points separating them with Real Madrid.

“Villareal is expected to come to the Champions League or Europa League also, so it’s not good for us and other people.
