Former Chelsea striker Demba Ba has taken to Twitter to mock Liverpool and Steven Gerrard, six years after his goal at Anfield following an infamous slip by the Reds captain
He may not have been prolific during his time at Chelsea, but Demba Ba will always be remembered among Blues fans for one goal he scored. That came against Liverpool at Anfield in 2014, when the Senegalese striker capitalised on a slip from Reds captain Steven Gerrard to score in front of the Kop.
It was a significant goal in the title race that season, with Ba helping Chelsea to a 2-0 win against Liverpool, who had been hunting their first Premier League title.
The defeat against Chelsea contributed to Liverpool losing their lead in the league, with Manchester City seizing the advantage to go on and win the title.
And Ba has brought memories of that moment flooding back for Liverpool fans with a hilarious response to a video published on Twitter of someone slipping over, gifting the ball to an opponent.
The tweet simply asked: “What would you have done?”
In response, Ba said just one word: “Score.”
Unsurprisingly, that message has gone down well with Chelsea fans, as can be seen below.
