Chelsea midfielder to leave club before Sunday after failing to play against Wolves
Thomas Tuchel’s reign as Chelsea manager started with a goalless draw against Wolves on Wednesday but a player is set to leave after failing to make the squad for the game.
However, According to The Athletic, Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour is considering the possibility of securing a loan move away from Stamford Bridge before the transfer window shuts next week.
Since returning from a knee injury in November, Gilmour has played just 309 minutes for the first team, of which only 34 have been in the Premier League.
Before Frank Lampard was sacked as Chelsea boss, the Scottish midfielder reportedly planned a meeting to discuss whether he’d be better off staying or going out on loan.
Following the sack of Lampard, Gilmour was keen on seeing if he will be involved against Wolves before deciding whether to stay or leave.
With the Scottish midfielder failing to even make the bench for the game against Wolves, it is believed he will push to leave on loan.
Gilmour is keen to feature more regularly because he has ambitions of making the Scotland squad for the European Championship this summer.
