Chelsea morning headlines: Blues told to pay €40million for Serie A forward, as Chelsea set to make £130m bid for player
Chelsea247 brings you the latest Chelsea transfer news this morning as the Blues are looking forward to make their first signing.
However, according to Italian media outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sassuolo have told Chelsea to pay €40million for Domenico Berardi.
The 26 year old was part of the Italy team that won the Euro 2020 this summer.
Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly interested in the Euro 2020 star.
Berardi has reportedly told Sassuolo that he wants to leave the Italian side this summer amid interest from Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund.
AC Milan and Liverpool were previously interested in the forward but have both backed out of a deal.
Berardi is highly renowned as one of the most established attackers in Serie A, having made almost 300 competitive appearances for the club, scoring 86 goals while chipping in with 56 assists.
Chelsea set to make £130m bid for player Erling Haaland
Chelsea in the hunt for Borussia Dortmund centre-forward Erling Haaland. The London club are readying an offer of up to £130m for Norway international and hope to tempt the Bundesliga giants into a sale, despite their earlier insistence on a higher transfer fee.
The prospect of Haaland leaving in this transfer window won’t be perfect for the BVB from a footballing perspective, but the club could consider a deal if they receive an unbelievable proposal.
Erling is reportedly valued at £150m, although the centre-forward could leave for half that price next summer transfer window due to a release clause in his Borussia Dortmund contract.
Man City and Chelsea have been running to sign the Norwegian striker, and realistically the only teams who could afford the centre-forward in the current financial climate.
The London club has emerged as the front-runners in the weeks gone and were expected to make a sizable bid sooner rather than later. Chelsea are set to step up and table a huge offer for the striker.
Back in June, it was reported that the Blues owner Roman Abramovic was taking an active interest in the deal and was leading negotiations with the Bundesliga giants for Erling.
The latest reports suggest the Blues owner is set to bankroll the move after setting a limit to the tune of £130m for the centre-forward. It means that the Blues would have to persuade Borussia Dortmund to agree to a deal under that price.
While the German club are looking at considerably more than £130m, a deal could still be stuck depending on how far the Premier League clubs want to go. It is widely expected of the Blues to make an opening bid and then run the course over talks to determine the final value.
But Roman Abramovic has reportedly made it clear, the final amount cannot go beyond £130m.
