Chelsea not giving up on Villarreal attacker
Chelsea might boast of a number of attacking players in their team but that will not stop them from investing in the signature of Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze from Spanish La Liga outfit Villarreal.
Samuel Chukwueze was the target for the west london outfit even before they made a move for Kai Havertz the last summer but they were able to convince the La Liga outfit to sell the youngster.
The Nigeria international has scored a total of 12 goals and assists in the last two La Liga seasons, and boats of 143 dribbles attempted since the start of the last campaign. There are not more than five players that can break his record in La Liga.
90min report that the West London outfit are not alone in the chase of the 21-year-old forward as other Premier League teams, including Leicester City, Man United, Chelsea, and Everton are all showing interest to sign him.
Samuel Chukwueze has a release clause of £80m in his current deal as he is highly valued by the club but it is yet to be seen if his suitors will pay such an amount for the Nigerian forward.
Chelsea have got a number of attacking players in the team and they are also very productive but Frank Lampard is considering making a return for Samuel Chukwueze especially as France international forward Olivier Giroud seeks to leave the club in the January window.
However, the Blues owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly made it clear that he will not be signing an attacking player or a midfielder in the coming transfer windows because he wants to protect the current crop of players in his team.
Frank Lampard has only been assured that he can bring in a defender to the team when the January transfer window is opened.
