The best player in the World Cup finals 2018 has been a Chelsea player – the stats prove it!
Chelsea had plenty of representatives at the tournament this summer, but now just two remain – N’Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud.
Kante has a real chance of being named player of the tournament. Though, Giroud will not be winning the Golden Boot, he’s failed to find the back of the net in Russia.
If Kante wants to have any chance to taking home the Golden Ball, he’s going to have to put in one hell of a performance in the final.
WhoScored‘s statistical team of the tournament shows that Eden Hazard has been the best performer at the competition. The Belgian has an average rating of 8.5
Hazard said himself following Belgium’s 2-0 victory over England in the third-place playoff, “I would give that title to me. But I do not get to choose. I think they will give it to someone playing the final.”
We’d give it to him, WhoScored would give it to him, in truth, FIFA will probably give it to either Kylian Mbappe or Luka Modric.
