Chelsea’s interest in intelligent Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham has contrived to stall contract renewal discussions between them and one of their most talented Academy graduates.
According to Goal’s Chelsea correspondent, Nizaar Kinsella, the club’s interest in the City starlet has had its own consequences.
However, with Faustino Anjorin now mulling over a new five-and-a-half-year deal until 2025 which Chelsea hierarchy are desperate to have him commit to.
Faustino Anjorin who is out of the deal at Stamford Bridge in less than 18 months has earned his senior team debut earlier this season in a League Cup game versus Grimsby Town but is wary of his chances of getting more first-team football with the introduction of more competition in the summer.
Though, the 18-year-old ace is highly regarded at Chelsea and has reciprocated thus handsomely on the field of play so far this term, scoring 11 goals and laying on another six in 22 outings for the club’s youth teams.
There are similarities in the playing styles of Jude Bellingham and the Nigeria-eligible midfielder, who has drawn comparisons with Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
And in light of the ongoing transfer business at the club, it is understood Faustino Anjorin wants to be assured of the likelihood of more senior team football before signing on for such a lengthy deal, and could be forced to listen to offers in the summer otherwise.
