Chelsea seek to make these five additional signings during January transfer window

Chelsea seek to make five additional signings during the January transfer window There’s five positions in the squad that Chelsea would like to make new signings in next month.

That is according to journalist Santi Aouna. We’ve seen Chelsea go wild in the recent transfer windows under this ownership, who’ve gone deep into their pockets to assemble this young squad at Stamford Bridge. Now, there’s a suggestion that the Blues hierarchy want several new signings in the January transfer window that is just around the corner.

Chelsea want five signings It’s quite a remarkable claim in the media that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have their eyes on five signings.

When you look at the mass recruitment in West London in 2023, it does seem a bit over the top. Apparently, Chelsea are targeting two new full-backs, plus a centre-half, wide man and centre-forward. Santi Aouna wrote on X: “Chelsea are aiming to strengthen in five positions in January! Right-back, left-back, centre-back, winger and striker are wanted.”

Possible targets We’ll take a look at some of the names rumoured to be on Chelsea’s wish list. Let’s start with a new central defender. Calciomercato reported this week that Chelsea have alreaedy made enquires about Torino’s £30million-rated centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno. Elsewhere.

The Sun claims that Pochettino’s side are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg’s versatile full-back Amar Dedic. For the winger position, 90min says that Chelsea are among several clubs keen on landing Copenhagen’s highly-rated wide man Roony Bardghji.

In our view, the centre-forward spot is the one position that the Blues should be focusing their attention on in the New Year. TEAMtalk reports that Chelsea could go all out to try and sign Sporting Lisbon frontman Viktor Gyokeres. Apparently, he’s viewed as a more realistic signing than Brentford’s Ivan Toney or Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
