Chelsea set to beat Liverpool for impressive Ampadu replacement after ban lift

Liverpool won the Champions League this year (just in case you were able to forget), but instead of following up with a shower of transfers, they’ve largely kept their squad the same, while adding young English talent like 16 year old Harvey Elliott.

Their policy, now they have established a really strong first XI, is clearly to try and develop young players to come in and gradually replace their starters as they age.

Chelsea need to fight back if they want to secure talents of their own and keep their own youth teams among the strongest in England, and that’s exactly what they look like doing.

According to the Metro Frank Lampard has made a move to get ahead of the Reds, by inviting Ben Chrisene to train with them. The 15 year old is at Exeter, the same club that sold us Ethan Ampadu.

Chrisene became the Spartans’ youngest debutant earlier this month, breaking Ampadu’s record, and the Blues are apparently keen to snap him up as soon as their transfer ban is over.

Who wins this battle we don’t know, but clearly we’re not letting Liverpool get away with hoovering up all this talent without a fight.
