CHELSEA posted a video of Gonzalo Higuain in training – and Blues fans are excited to see their new addition in action.
The striker joined Chelsea on loan this week after a drawn out exit from AC Milan.
Higuain couldn’t feature against Tottenham last night but was unveiled on the Stamford Bridge pitch before the clash and hinted he may be in line to start against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.
And Chelsea have released a clip of the 31-year-old scoring in training to get fans excited about his first appearance this weekend.
In the short clip, filmed behind the goal, Higuain can be seen bending a curled effort in the top corner of the net.
And Chelsea fans have had their say on the video.
“A striker that can finish with his feet. That was pleasing on the eyes,” one tweeted.
“Look at the finesse on that shot!! Beautiful for days,” one said.
“My striker #HiguaIN none of that Morata nonsense!” another wrote.
“#Higuain shows what he can bring to us……Great days await!” one wrote.
“Morata is hugging his wife on Instagram while Higuain is netting goals top bins. Levels.” added a fifth.
On Wednesday, the new arrival told the club’s official website: “Maurizio Sarri is the coach who, in my career, has got the best out of me as a player.
“He’s someone who knew how to work with me, particularly on the emotional side.
“That year together was fantastic and in big parts thanks to him, so coming to work with him is very important for me.
“Now I hope I can give back the trust that Chelsea has shown in me out on the pitch.”
“Gonzalo was our number one target in this transfer window and arrives with a proven record at the highest level,” said Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia.
“He has previously worked with Maurizio to great effect and is familiar with how the coach likes to play.
“This was not an easy deal for us to do because of the numerous parties involved.
“But we are delighted we were able to make it happen and we look forward to seeing the impact Gonzalo will make for us in the second half of the season.”
