Chelsea star admits he wants to join Real Madrid

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has not ruled out another return to Spanish giants Real Madrid in the future.

Morata was linked with an exit from Chelsea over the summer, but nothing came to fruition and he remains the club’s first-choice forward.

The Spaniard has scored once in five appearances so far this season, after netting 15 times in his debut campaign.

He joined Chelsea for a, then, club-record £55m from Real Madrid at the start of last season, managing 11 Premier League goals in 31 appearances.

Speaking to The Evening Standard, Morata said this about a return to Madrid:

Who would not like it?

I am happy at Chelsea but I have many years ahead in my career if God and injuries allow it. Mariano said Madrid never close the door and look what happened. You never know.

I’m in Chelsea, not in a team that are very inferior. It is clear that Madrid are the best in the world and everyone wants to be there but I’m not envious [of Mariano].

Morata scored 31 senior goals for Real Madrid over two spells with the club – with a two-year stay at Juventus in between.
