Chelsea star close to join Karim Benzema in Saudi club
According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti via The Sun, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is on the verge of a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad.
Kante will be out of contract at Chelsea this summer and representatives from the Saudi club will travel to London this week to speak to Kante’s agent.
Al Ittihad are confident of reaching an agreement to sign Kante as a free agent this summer. They also expect an agreement to be reached quickly.
Kante joined Chelsea in a £30million transfer from Leicester in 2016 and has since made 269 appearances for the Blues.
However, he was limited to just nine outings this season due to a severe hamstring injury.
Chelsea had hoped to keep Kante on board by offering him a two-year contract extension, but the 32-year-old now looks set to leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis.
Should Kante join Al Ittihad, he will link-up with his international teammate Karim Benzema at the Saudi club.
