Chelsea Target Snubs Man United Due To Style Of Play Concerns

Chelsea target Mateo Kovacic is not keen on a move to Manchester United as he doesn’t believe he fits their style of play, according to Marca.

Kovacic has been tentatively linked with Chelsea this summer. It’s clear he wants out of Real Madrid, but negotiating an exit may not be so straightforward.

His stock has not risen during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. A lack of game-time has put the brakes on his development, but he’s still an incredibly talented player.

Real will likely demand a hefty fee in exchange for the Croatian midfield maestro, one that, as per Marca, Man United were prepared to pay.

The Spanish publication do claim, however, that Kovacic has snubbed a move to Old Trafford, as he doesn’t believe he would work in Jose Mourinho’s system.

Maurizio Sarri has already implemented a far more attractive and expansive style of play at Chelsea. If we do push forward with our interest in Kovacic, convincing him to sign shouldn’t be difficult.
