Chelsea could face a transfer battle with Arsenal, should they take up the offer to sign former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho this summer.
There have been a few reports circulating suggesting that Chelsea could well move for the Barcelona star when the transfer window reopens, and the latest report on this subject actually points towards Coutinho being offered out – rather than clubs approaching him.
The Sun have written an exclusive and claim that the Brazil international will be offered to Arsenal and Chelsea for either a permanent buy of £75 million, or a loan deal with obligation to buy.
Coutinho has struggled since making his big money move from Liverpool two years ago and was subsequently loaned out to Bayern Munich.
It feels like last chance saloon now for the creative midfielder as he attempts to save his career and get back to the top of his game.
The report does state that both Chelsea and Arsenal ARE interested in signing Coutinho.
