Chelsea are in talks to land Germany sensation Armel Bella-Kotchap, the Sun exclusively reports. The 18-year-old centre-back has lit up Bundesliga 2 since signing his first senior deal with VfL Bochum in March last year.
After just eight league appearances this term, the Germany U18 international is now worth £6.5m after several stand-out displays.
And SunSport states Chelsea are leading the way to sign Armel having already made contact with the player’s agents ahead of a potential summer switch.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the current situation with the Paris-born youngster. Wolves and Sheffield United are ken as well.
Bella-Kotchap has recently penned a new deal with VfL Bochum until June of 2024, but the German club are willing to listen to proposals for their prized asset.
Meantime, Chelsea have reportedly identified Trabzonspor star Ugurcan Cakir as a potential summer signing. With Willy Caballero and Kepa Arrizabalaga both failing to impress on a consistent basis this term, Blues boss Frank Lampard is considering his options ahead of next term.
As it stands, it appears likely that at least one of the keepers will be allowed to depart Stamford Bridge in order to make room for a new signing.
According to Fotospor, the Blues may make an approach for Cakir, who has been heavily linked with Liverpool in recent months.
The 23-year-old star has continued to impress for Trabzonspor this term, making 22 starts as the club compete for the league title.
