Chelsea will get chance to sign £100M man after Chief Executive reveals ‘club may have to sell’

Chelsea will be given the chance to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes – if you believe the latest reports.

Since their Saudi Arabia takeover, the Magpies have been very careful to make sure they do not breach FFP rules and invite any unwanted scrutiny, but The Magpies could be forced to cash in on some of their most prized assets to raise transfer funds for the summer.

After announcing losses of £73.4million, chief executive Darren Eales has hinted that the club may be forced to sell players to continue their recent upward trajectory.

CHELSEA are a team who could look to take advantage of this situation with a move for Brazilian midfielder Guimaraes – who is easily regarded as one of the best midfielders at the club and one of the best in the Premier League.

He currently has a £100million release clause in his contract and they would be powerless to stop him leaving if they met that.

He joined the club for a reported £40m in January 2022 from Lyon, turning down Arsenal to move to the north east. And the Brazilian has played 87 times for the club and scored 11 goals.
