Chelsea’s biggest regrets from January transfer window finally revealed
According to reports, Chelsea signed two players during the January transfer window and recalled another from a loan spell but not many fans were convinced with Chelsea’s activity in January.
However, Brazilian winger Kenedy, who can also play as a left wing-back, was recalled from his loan spell at Brazilian club Flamengo while Dylan Williams was signed from Derby.
18 year old striker Mason Burstow was signed from Charlton Athletic but will spend the rest of the season on loan at Charlton Athletic before joining Chelsea in the summer.
Nizaar Kinsella, Chelsea correspondent for media outlet GOAL, believes Chelsea have one big regret from the January transfer window.
According to Kinsella, not bringing back Emerson Palmieri from his loan spell at Lyon is a big regret for the Blues.
Kinsella tweeted: “I still think Chelsea’s big regret from this transfer window will be not getting Emerson Palmieri back.
“He was the perfect short term option after Ben Chilwell’s injury.
“Lyon had a watertight loan arrangement there though.
“Kenedy is not the same calibre of player.”
Emerson Palmieri’s loan deal to Lyon had no recall clause and the French side rejected Chelsea’s offer of £3million to cancel the loan deal.
