Christian Pulisic has recently been asked about his decision to join The Blues. The winger will start training under Maurizio Sarri in June but until then he’s still a player of Borussia Dortmund.
The 20-year-old American insists it was the right time for him to change the team as he has always dreamed of playing in the Premier League.
“It’s a really good time for me and I have had an amazing five years in Germany. It’s been incredible and I am so thankful for that.
It’s been a dream of mine [to play in the Premier League] and I am really excited for this move and I feel like it was just the right time for me.”, concluded the Pulisic who became the club’s third most expensive signing.
The player was also monitored by Liverpool. He even reportedly wanted to join The Reds more than The Blues. However, when asked directly about his alleged desire to move to Anfield, Christian said: “I do not want to talk about that. I’m happy to have made my decision for Chelsea.”
Jurgen Klopp, in his turn, said nothing but praise for the 20-year-old footballer and congratulated Chelsea with their new signing:
“Another really good player for Chelsea. He’s a good player. I have known him for a while and followed him closely but it’s a good deal for Dortmund because they can keep him until the end of the season and good signing for Chelsea.”
