‘Could not make a point’ – Tuchel finally reveals what Lukaku failed to do in 1-0 win over Palace
Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku was completely ineffective and had just seven touches of the ball as the Blues beat Crystal Palace 1-0 on Saturday at Selhurst Park.
Meanwhile, It broke the record for the fewest touches in a single Premier League game (7) for a player who has played the full 90 minutes since the data became available in 2003/04.
Now, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel conceded after the match that despite being on the pitch Lukaku ‘wasn’t involved’ against Crystal Palace.
Tuchel said: “I am not so sure if I have a good answer to your question. I don’t know what it says. It says he was obviously not involved and could not make a point. I am not sure if it says so much about us in general.”
Should Lukaku be dropped for Tuesday’s Champions League game against Lille at Stamford Bridge?
