As it was mentioned by Neil Fissler of the Daily Express earlier this month, both Chelsea and Man United are keeping tabs on Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho.
The Blues are understood to be ready to battle the Red Devils in a race for the Brazilian as both Prem’s giants are willing to return the ex-Liverpool midfielder to English top flight.
The 26-year-old midfielder had yet another disappointing performance in the Blaugrana shirt against Girona on Sunday.
In fact, the Coutinho’s poor form has been a worry for the Catalans for a long time already.
According to Barcelona-based newspaper Diario SPORT, Ernesto Valverde is even planning to hold an individual meeting with Coutinho to discuss his struggles in private as the player is reportedly unhappy with the number of playing time at Camp Nou.
Starting only 7 La Liga games this season so far, the Brazilian is unlikely to leave Barcelona this month as his family are understood to be happy and settled in Catalunya and the fact that Coutinho’s wife Aine has recently given birth to a baby daughter could mean that the 26-year-old is highly improbable to leave the La Liga champions anytime soon.
Coutinho joined the Blaugrana from Liverpool on a £142 million fee last January winning the La Liga and Copa del Rey after less than a half a year in Catalunya.
